Materiel-de-Camping.com is an independent guide devoted to camping and outdoor activities. We publish practical advice, comparisons and checklists to help campers choose their equipment and prepare their trips.

How we approach it

The site is written for ordinary campers: families spending a week under canvas, walkers discovering bivouac, travellers in a motorhome. The guides are meant to be read before a purchase or before a departure, and to answer the question asked in the opening lines.

We favour criteria you can verify — dimensions, weight, hydrostatic head, R-value, standardised temperature ratings — over general impressions. Where a choice depends on context, we say so rather than crowning a universal winner.

What you will not find here

We do not write up tests we have not carried out. No guide on this site claims to have measured a product in the field when it has not: comparisons rest on manufacturers’ published specifications, on the relevant standards and on the practice of camping.

Independence

The site is published independently. It is neither the continuation of, nor connected to, any camping retailer, and it speaks for no brand.
